Private Music Lessons

I offer private lessons for the harp and the piano. My life’s passion, for nearly 50 years, has been to change a life through the gift of music.

All Ages - All Levels

My goal is to bring out the best in each of my students. I understand that everyone is unique and therefore customize the lessons around your special abilities and aspirations. I provide an encouraging atmosphere for my students so they can learn, experiment and create in ways that will lead them to a lifetime of music enjoyment. Whether you are a young student or an adult who finally has time to follow a lifelong dream, everyone with a sincere desire can learn the harp or piano. I am here to help you discover the musician in you!

What to Expect

Lessons are taught in my home studio where I have multiple harps and a grand piano. Students are classically trained with strong emphasis on good musicianship, note reading, rhythm, proper technic and theory. Improvisation is also taught which opens up so many opportunities for arranging your own music. Learning to play well requires having a quality instrument. Contact me to discuss this very important matter. Many of my student study at length with me and go on to reach high levels of musical skill. Some have gone on to study at the university level.

Harp Workshops and Conferences

Periodically I offer Music Camps and Workshops in my home where I gives specific instruction on a variety of subject matters such as Memorization, Keys to Excellent Practice, Theory Skills, Performance Anxiety and more.

As a long time member of the Central Florida Chapter of the American Harp Society, many of my students choose to attend workshops and harp conferences both locally as well as nationally.

Recitals, Festivals and Competitions

Many of my students enjoy sharing their talents at various events such as weddings, funerals, receptions, parties, nursing or retirement homes, churches, schools, orchestras and concerts of all kinds.

As a member of the Orlando Music Club, my students have the opportunity to perform in monthly recitals in local retirement homes, annual festivals, competitions and harp ensembles. "Festival / Federation" is held annually at one of our local universities where many school aged students choose to perform. They are judged and rated on their own skill level and may receive Gold Cups for Superior ratings. I am experienced adjudicator for many years and have seen my own students soar in their musical progress. Many of my students have received superior ratings and have competed on the State level, winning first place and runner-up.
